Oetz gives you access to Austria’s Hochoetz ski area, which is jam-packed full of cushty blue and red runs. The kids will have a ball learning to ski in Kids Land, and they might even meet WIDI, the mascot mountain sheep, at the Fun Park. Keep a look out for special Hochoetz Family Weeks for the best deals!
If you’re into black runs, they are a bit scarce. But you can jump on a ski bus to nearby Kühtai, which has a few more steely verticals.

Best time to ski in Oetz
Legend has it that Hochoetz is one of the sunniest areas to ski in Austria - an average of 71 bluebird days per season. So top up the goggle tan and soak up the rays. Nice!

Things to do in Oetz
Hungry? Good food is big business here in Hochoetz. Ski into one of the many mountain huts to feast on hearty Austrian dishes or tasty wood-fired pizza. The Hochoetz panorama restaurant and Kristall Bar at the top of the Acherkogel gondola have, hands down, the best views over the pistes.
After a big day on the hill, you’ll probably want some R&R time. Feel the tension melt away at the Aqua Dome thermal baths in nearby Längenfeld. Or, why not book an overnight stay in an igloo? Yes, you heard that right - an IGLOO!!
